Fasting Seasons
Orthodox Christians observe four major fasting periods each year, along with fasting every Wednesday and Friday throughout the year. Please consult your priest or the Online Chapel at goarch.org for specific fasting guidelines.
- Nativity Fast — Nov. 15 through Dec. 24
- Great Lent — 7 weeks before Pascha (moveable)
- Apostles' Fast — Monday after All Saints through June 28
- Dormition Fast — August 1 through August 14
Parish Feast Day
Our patronal feast — the Feast of St. Porphyrios of Kavsokalyvia — is celebrated on December 2 each year with a festal Divine Liturgy followed by a trapeza (fellowship meal). All are warmly welcome.
