In the Orthodox Christian tradition, giving is an act of worship — a participation in the self-offering of Christ Himself. The tithe (10% of one's income) has been the standard of Christian generosity since the earliest days of the Church, and remains a meaningful guide for how we return to God a portion of what He has first given us.
The gifts of our parishioners sustain every dimension of parish life: the Divine Liturgy and all sacraments, the care of our building and liturgical vessels, the support of our clergy, catechism and formation programs, Philoptochos charitable work, and our outreach to military families stationed near Camp Lejeune.
No gift is too small. Every offering, given with a pure heart and faith in God's providence, is received with gratitude and used faithfully for the life of the Church.
A stewardship basket is passed during the Divine Liturgy each Sunday. Cash and checks are welcome. Checks may be made payable to St. Porphyrios Greek Orthodox Church.
Send your offering by mail to our parish mailing address. Please make checks payable to St. Porphyrios Greek Orthodox Church.
